The groundbreaking was held today for the new Transportation Technology Center. ASU Newport has one of the premier truck driving programs in the country. This will only enhance the program. Special guests today included Governor Beebe, Senator Jack Critcher, and Dr. Wyatt (ASU System President). Many other guests were on hand from the State Highway Department and the State Economic Development Commission.Jon Chadwell shared many pieces of great news. Look for the TV news tonight and print news soon for the details. The details include a new hotel, more jobs at our local state prison, and the opening of a new Sears. Also, we took a bus tour to see the new rail spur.
